Travel & Transportation

Which airport should I fly into?

Lisbon - Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS)

How far is the venue from the airport?

Vandelli Botanical Gardens: 20 - 30 minutes Palácio de Tancos: 15 - 20 minutes

Do I need a passport?

Yes — all guests traveling internationally will need a valid passport. We recommend ensuring your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.

What is the best way to get around Lisbon?

Uber, Bolt, and taxis are widely available and affordable throughout Lisbon. Walking is also a great way to explore the city, though many streets are hilly and cobblestoned.

Will transportation be provided to wedding events?

No -- see "Best ways to get around Lisbon" or Travel Tab for suggestions.

Should we rent a car?

Completely up to you! It depends on your full itinerary for the trip. Do not rent a car while staying in central Lisbon, as the city is highly walkable with excellent public transport and cheap Ubers. Narrow, steep streets and limited, expensive parking make driving stressful. Only rent a car if you are taking day trips to rural areas or visiting other cities, picking it up only when you are ready to leave the city center.

Accomodations

More details to come

What is the dress code for each event?

Dress code for each event can be found under the Dress Code tab.

Will events be indoors or outdoors?

Both!

What weather should we expect?

On July 21, Lisbon experiences classic midsummer weather. Expect hot, sunny days with average highs of 82 degrees. Evenings cool down to a pleasant 66 degrees.

Food & Dietary Restrictions

Will there be gluten-free options?

Absolutely! We want everyone to fully enjoy the weekend, and gluten-free options will be available throughout all wedding events.

Can other dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Yes — please include any dietary restrictions when submitting your RSVP.

Logistics

Should we carry cash?

Yes, you should carry a small amount of cash (about €50–100). While credit/debit cards (Visa and Mastercard) are widely accepted for most purchases in major cities, cash is still highly useful for smaller establishments, rural cafes, street vendors, and tipping.

Destination Guidance / Fun Extras

Will there be ATMs in Portugal?

Yes. Avoid Euronet ATMs: If possible, stick to standard bank-affiliated ATMs rather than the bright yellow Euronet machines, which carry high fees.
